For those who still have too much pressure and “bah humbug” in your lives, It is worth slowing down a notch, consider the reason for the Christmas season, and the reason that a host of angels said to some regular people … “Do not be afraid …Peace … be unto you and to all men of good will … for I bring you good news of great joy … For this day, in Bethlehem … a savior has been born … the Messiah … for you!” The host of angels that appeared at that time praised God and said to these regular people “Glory to God! Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests!” (Luke 2:8-14)
God had previously told through a prophet by the name of Isaiah “For unto to you a child is born … unto you a Son is given … and the government will be upon His shoulder … His name will be called Wonderful … Counselor … The Mighty God … The Everlasting Father …. The Prince of Peace … of the increase of His government and peace there shall be NO END“. That prophecy goes on to promise that as the Messiah establishes this incredible government (not like the governments established by man) … it will not only not end … it will not only bring peace that does not end … God will “order it and establish it with judgement and with justice and that from that time forward … and forever more … the Lord God will perform this … it will not pass away …” (Isaiah 9:6) ….
Some men would say that Christmas is the beginning of the establishment of this peace and justice and contentment that God brings through the events that we celebrate happening about 2000 years ago, yet in truth … they were established as God’s plan for us before the beginning of time. Read 2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:2 and then especially read John chapters 1 through 3. Then go to Revelation 3:20. God has been planning that dinner with you and with me for a LONG time … since before the world began … and all we have to understand is what it says in Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Hebrews 9:27, Rom 10:10, Matthew 25:41, Jn 5:24, John 10:10 ….. Then listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying in your heart … “lay down your burdens … come … come“.
It is simple to be a person whom God says are the “men of good will” spoken of in Luke 2:8 through verse 11. Let us go and seek Him … this baby lying in a manger … who then lived a life that showed us the way … and who loved us with a LOVE that even said “I will sacrifice it all to make sure that YOU survive“. There is no greater love …. … the regular people that Yeshua … Jesus … the Messiah did it for are you and me and any others who … if we will humble ourselves and just say yes … as Mary said “yes … may it be to me as you have said …” … as Joseph was asked to join in marriage with a pregnant virgin (not the thing to do back then) … he just said “yes” … Read Hebrews 11 about all of the others throughout history who had faith to just say “yes … may it be unto me as you have said …” Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling …. calling to you and to me …. … calling Oh sinner come home” … a place that he has prepared for us … with many rooms … to be where He is … the Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace … the One who loves us SO much that He planned all of this before the foundation of the world … …
